Flowering perennial native to rocky grasslands in the eastern cape of South Africa. Spiky leaves do not give a garlicky breath, letting one not to shy away from society.
For best visual effect, plant en masse in open sunny areas where supplemental irrigation may be spotty. Avoid planting under shade trees that cast a large shadow.
Little care needed once established.
